I work in stoneware and porcelain. My main areas of interest are thrown bowls,  tiles, and porcelain buttons. I use Potterycraft or Botz glazes, or slip resist techniques using freehand paper templates, and more recently,  water erosion. I use an electric kiln. I learnt at ILEA evening classes at the Elmwood pottery, and continued on my own when this closed down.

Outside playing with clay, my  interests are cinema, particularly French Japanese and Italian, Japanese prints, reading old novels, gardening and cooking.

When I’m not able to pot I have posted about cookery, which is probably more universally interesting. I enjoy cooking for people, communal meals, trying new recipes and reading books about cookery. Food based films are also an interest, for instance, Tampopo,  Babette’s Feast, Julie and Juliet.
